Increasingly, my work with businesses often uncovers concerns from the founder or executive team that their market or customer situation is undergoing significant (often disruptive) change. In other cases, founders are ‘sitting on’ ideas for new products or business models that are not being pursued because of pressure to achieve existing goals. Sometimes, this lack of ‘looking outside’ has very damaging consequences for the business – it sometimes leads to a disruption that weakens their value proposition or worse renders their product/offer irrelevant. This is an offsite workshop that explores ‘what might be’ in terms of the future – for their market, for their business. It then uses a structure approach to identify key developments/challenges/opportunities that will be acted on to change the business.
Typically two days with a small number of senior executives.
The workshop covers:
· Pre-work – some prep work is needed for this workshop, and is tailored to the business situation
· Goals and deliverables from this session
· Megatrends and mapping the future
· Our world – from the outside, in
· Strengths, Weaknesses, Trends – and what they might mean
· A 10-year vision – what if...
· +10, x10 and Exponential Thinking
· Future Scenarios – Ugly, Bad, Good, Great
· 3 Things – to explore, to validate, to decide on
· Next steps and our Roadmap to the future
